This is truly an inexpensive set-up comprising of a Yamaha RXV795aRDS amplifier (second-hand = £100), a Pioneer DVD 717 (second-hand = £20), Pioneer CLD 2950 (Ad Trader = £35, including 50 films!), InFocus litepro 720 (given to me FREE!), Xbox (£150 new), Sony PS2 (£150 new), Nintendo Gamecube (£100 new).
The InFocus sits on a shelf bought for £20 from Ikea. The expanding bolts used to attach the shelf to the wall were also from Ikea, costing just £4 for a pack of 8. I don't recommend them as they were a pig to use, so get better quality bolts.
I coated the wall with Dulux, but nothing else. It would be better with a sheet of MDF, but frankly this is a livingroom when the projector is switched off and I hate clutter. The output speaks for itself. For a cheap set-up, the image is very clear. Who needs fancy electric, drop down screens when a flat wall painted a neutral colour will do? (Al Pacino / Insomnia)
